It’s been nearly 8 months since we had the idea over a few glasses of wine to submit a paper to the BASPCAN organisation and see if they were interested in hearing our message about the MASH (multi-agency safeguarding hub) vision and model.
BASPCAN is an academic organisation and uses its conference to identify and communicate new research regarding child protection subjects. MASH is new and innovative, but more of a practice-based innovation rather than research. We want professionals to realise the opportunities the MASH model gives them, so we submitted the paper and waited…
Surprisingly they seemed to like the content and asked us to present it. We viewed this as an honour and a huge opportunity.
Our company is committed to engaging in the widest possible conversation concerning safeguarding for children and adults. The intention is to create and support delivery in this difficult area of public protection.
We organise our own conferences each year as part of this vision, so it is wonderful to be able to support BASPCAN in our small way in their endeavours. Research and evidence-based change needs to reach the widest possible audience.
Once I found out that some of our company associates and I were able to present the paper, it was an easy decision to support the conference and take a stand for the three days.
So if you’re attending and wonder who we are, what we do and why, then come and have a chat. We will be at Stand 15, 50 George St.
You will also be able to be the first to thumb through new Safeguarding book that is hot of the press this weekend. Great reviews from readers so far and the intro is by Lord Laming no less. Please come and see us and get the first look!
